Suffolk Public Schools’ Early Start/VPI Pre-Screening Applications for 2021 – 2022 are Now Available

Suffolk Public Schools is now accepting pre-screening applications for the Early Start / VPI Program. The Early Start / VPI Program is designed to reduce disparities among young children upon formal school entry and to reduce or eliminate risk factors that lead to early academic failure.

The Early Start Program is a program for children who turn four years old by September 30, 2021, who need an extra year to prepare for success in kindergarten. Children must be Suffolk residents.

Early Start/VPI pre-screening applications are available on our website, and copies are also available at all of our elementary schools. Please contact your respective elementary school to receive a copy.

Screenings allow school officials to select children according to their needs. Screenings for both the child and parent will take place by appointment only.  Appointment information will be mailed to the home address.  However, we encourage you to submit your Early Start/VPI application to begin the process.

If you have a completed Early-Start/VPI application, please return or mail your completed form to the Suffolk Public Schools Administrative Offices at 100 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA, 23434 to the attention of Pam Connor. You may also return your completed application to your child's elementary schoo
